Job Description

About Fuse We are building one of the most potentially consequential companies of the century. Our mission is to accelerate the world's transition to fusion energy while safeguarding humankind. This is not a normal company. This is not a normal job. We are committed for the long term to win. About the Role You'll shoot and edit the films that show what Fuse actually builds. You are responsible for the full chain: camera, lighting, sound, edit, and grade. This is cinematic, high-craft work inside a real pulsed-power facility — high-voltage machines, low-light labs, reflective metal, and hardware that needs to look on screen exactly like what it is. Behind the scenes precious moments of the build out of a fusion company – failures, the people, all the special moments. What We Value Obsess about the details — sloppy work costs us later, so do it right the first time. Care — pick up the trash. Do things no one asks you to do. Go the extra mile because you care. Act with urgency — every hour matters more than it feels like it does. Be responsible for the outcome, not just the task; if it is not working, it remains your problem until it is fixed. Assume good intent — disagree openly, then commit fully once a call is made. Core Responsibilities Shoot, edit, and deliver cinematic films that show Fuse's machines, people, tests, and technical work. Be responsible for the full production process — camera, lighting, location audio, edit, color, and final delivery. Develop scripts, concepts, and shoot plans with the creative team. Produce everything from 2–3 minute launch films and technical explainers to vertical social content. Work primarily as a one-person crew, bringing in additional production support for larger shoots when needed. Build and maintain a searchable footage library so new work never starts from zero. Collaborate with the rest of the creative team to ensure cohesive positioning and branding. Minimum Qualifications Exceptional reel demonstrating professional cinematography and editing; this is a portfolio hire. Command of camera, lighting, location audio, editing, and color grading. Ability to shoot difficult environments including low light, high contrast, reflective metal, and industrial hardware. Ability to independently take a project from concept and shoot through finished film. Experience using AI video-generation tools as part of a professional production workflow. Strong judgment sourcing and integrating stock footage when needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience filming in industrial, laboratory, cleanroom, aerospace, defense, or access-restricted environments. Motion graphics or 3D experience for technical explainers. Strong still-photography portfolio. Additional Requirements This is not a remote position and will require relocation if not already local to Fuse's San Leandro, CA facility. Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed. Position may require some business travel to othe
