Job Description
About Polymarket Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future. We're growing fast — both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire. About the Role Polymarket is looking for a Sports Markets Lead to own everything related to sports across both Polymarket US (off-chain) and Polymarket International (on-chain). You'll be responsible for the entire sports vertical: coverage, liquidity, resolution, and partnerships — combining the instincts of a bookmaker with the precision of a product manager. This is a hands-on, high-leverage role for someone who understands how sports trading works under the hood — data, feeds, models, latency, liquidity, and market flow. You'll work directly with the Head of Markets, partnering closely with liquidity providers, engineers, compliance, and data vendors to build infrastructure that makes Polymarket faster, deeper, and more accurate than any sportsbook. What You'll Do Own the sports vertical — from NFL moneylines to bespoke, news-driven markets Expand coverage by identifying and prioritizing events worth listing; design systematic and discretionary pipelines for new markets Drive liquidity by working with top-tier market makers and trading firms to structure incentives, fees, and quoting standards Build faster, more reliable resolution systems using data feeds, APIs, and automation frameworks Integrate data sources — work with providers like Sportsdata.io and others to ensure real-time accuracy and resilience Shape partnerships with leagues, data firms, and sports-adjacent brands to expand Polymarket's reach Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering to ship sports features that meet regulatory and technical requirements Track volume, spreads, participation, and latency across sports markets and relentlessly improve them What We're Looking For 2+ years leading sports trading, sportsbook operations, or sports exchange systems Deep understanding of liquidity mechanics, odds compilation, and market-making models Strong technical fluency — able to spec APIs, debug data feeds, and work directly with engineers Product sensibility — you think in systems, user flows, and feedback loops Comfort operating in regulated and unregulated environments simultaneously High-agency mindset and appetite for ownership; thrives in fast-moving, high-stakes environments (Plus) Experience at a regulated exchange or DCM/DCO (Plus) Background in quantitative trading or market-making (Plus) Existing relationships w
