Senior Software Engineer, Wallets at Stellar

Since 2014, the mission-driven team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has helped fuel the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open-source platform that operates at high-scale today. Developers and companies around the world build on it, and the SDF team is expanding to support the rapidly growing and changing Stellar ecosystem.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em">As a part of the Wallet team, you will work on products that power the ecosystem of applications that connect end-users to the Stellar network. Our team builds one of these applications, <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.freighter.app/"><u>Freighter</u></a>, as well as the open-source libraries and services that they depend on. Your work will be at the intersection of scale and usability: designing opinionated backend systems and interfaces that accelerate downstream application development and deploying and scaling those systems as Stellar’s transaction throughput and user base grows.</p><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Work on cutting-edge technology at the intersection of blockchain and finance.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Drive all aspects of the development process for wallet projects, from vision to implementation.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Design new functionality and developer-facing APIs that empower the ecosystem.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Build and maintain scalable web services that align with the foundation’s mission.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Identify developer needs and design standardized protocols to improve developer velocity across the ecosystem.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Engage with the open-source community on diverse projects, frameworks, and ideas.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Collaborate on code reviews, design discussions, and best practices for engineering at SDF.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure our API services scale effectively.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Author detailed technical specifications (RFCs) to contribute to our robust design process.</p></li></ul><p style="min-height:1.5em"></p><p style="min-height:1.5em"><strong>You have:</strong></p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">5+ years of experience developing software as part of a collaborative team.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval.</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Proficiency in writing server applications in language
