You will help unlock massive throughput, low latency, and resilience across consensus, data availability, and privacy - the invisible rails that make an open and decentralized future possible.</p><h2>About the Role</h2><p style="min-height:1.5em">We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Protocol to join our core systems team and architect the backbone of the Movement Network. In this role, you will drive development of latency-critical, correctness-sensitive components such as consensus, state synchronization, and mempool systems. You’ll use Rust for distributed systems that operate under real-world load, and you’ll help shape foundational protocol design alongside other senior engineers.</p><h2>What You’ll Do</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Design, implement, and optimize core protocol components, including:</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Consensus mechanisms</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">State synchronization and replication</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Mempool and transaction propagation</p></li></ul></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Build high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems in Rust</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Improve system throughput, reliability, and latency at scale</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Partner with research and product teams to iterate protocol designs</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Debug and resolve complex distributed systems challenges in live environments</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Contribute to engineering standards for testing, benchmarks, and safe releases</p></li></ul><h2>What We’re Looking For</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Deep experience as a Rust generalist with a focus on systems programming</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Strong background in distributed systems (consensus, replication, networking, async primitives) and design tradeoffs</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Experience building or operating production infrastructure or protocol software</p></li><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Excellent understanding of:</p><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li><p style="min-height:1.5em">Asynchronous concurrency a
