Job Description
<p><a href="https://panteracapital.com/">Pantera Capital</a> is the first institutional investment firm focused exclusively on bitcoin, other digital currencies, and companies in the blockchain tech ecosystem. Pantera launched the first cryptocurrency fund in the United States in 2013. The firm subsequently launched the first exclusively-blockchain venture fund. In 2017, Pantera was the first firm to offer an early-stage token fund. Pantera manages $3.5bn across three strategies – passive, hedge, and venture – exclusively focused on bitcoin, other digital currencies, and companies in the blockchain tech ecosystem.</p>
<p>Pantera is hiring an Accounting Junior or Associate to support the management companies.&nbsp; The ideal candidate will have experience with the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable processing, compiling and reviewing financial information, preparing financial paperwork, and maintaining records. This role will also assist with general administrative tasks. This role requires presence at least three days a week in our San Juan office.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Review, process, and record vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and other accounting transactions accurately and timely</li>
<li>Assist with monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting support</li>
<li>Perform bank, cash, prepaid, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities and systems</li>
<li>Track outstanding payables, payment support, and cash activity</li>
<li>Work with large data sets and assist with consolidating accounting data across multiple systems and reports</li>
<li>Maintain and understand general ledgers for management companies and related entities</li>
<li>Assist with quarterly financial reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting functions</li>
<li>Research and help resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation differences with guidance from the management team members</li>
<li>Support annual audits, tax return preparation, and informative returns</li>
<li>Assist with ad hoc accounting and operational projects as assigned while taking ownership and support operational needs across multiple areas when needed</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field</li>
<li>Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus</li>
